He was one of the established heavyweight fighters in Europe. 5th place in the 2nd All Kyokushinkan World Tournament in 2009. Zsolt Balogh has reached the podium in the European Championship several times, number two in 2011, only defeated by Valeri Dimitrov. Number three in 2009, 10 and 2015. He has also been among the top 8 in the Open Weight EC.
