Just a matter of hours, and The Diamond Cup 2016 is a fact. This year tournament seems to have a interesting line up, and a good mix from different organizations and countries. We can see that the absolute elite are resting after the World Tournaments late in 2015, but some profiles are too see.

October the 1st, The 40th British Open will be held in Crawley, UK. The tournament has been organizes since 1976, and “always been there” This has been an arena where everybody meets, and one of the fundamental activity for the IFK to reach out to others in the Kyokushin World. In 40th years the British Open have only been canceled two times, 2005 – 3rd World Championship was held, and in 2007 when the venue was declared unsafe.

KWU, published the doping results from the World Championship held in Russia October 3-4. 2015. The result is now well known, and discussions around this is going on across the whole Kyokushin world. Six athletes lost their trophy as a result of the doping test. But we also fear that behind this results others also could be using illegal substances. That said, we do have to remember a important thing: an athlete is innocent – until proven otherwise. Many also think to make Kyokushin a modern sport, we will face even bigger challenges in the same direction that this results have pointed out.

The 3rd All Japan Fullcontact Karate Championship is held in Osaka, May 21st and 22nd.

Kyokushin Open Norway, 9th April 2016
Bergen, Norway
Once again The Kyokushin Open Norway will be held as the most traditional tournament in Norway. The 2015 edition gathered fighters from Poland, Sweden and Norway. The tournament attract fighters one their way up, and slowly building up as an international tournament. The tournament do to the Norwegian rules accept fighting in the women division whit out shin protections.
The 9th edition of the Shinkyokushin French Open will be held 2nd and 3rd April 2016.
The French Open have been a strong tournament for last two years, and besides good fighters from central and north Europe, the Eastern Europe has been supported with good nations as Lithuania, Georgia and Kazakhstan.
French Open can offer elite category novice category and “Old Masters”…

Russian Championship weight categories and Kata was held in Novovoronezh, 20th December. Four categories for men, 65 kg, -75 kg, -85 kg and +85 kg. Women division 55 kg and over/below 65 kg. Russian profiles made their impressions, and well known fighters as Khassay Magomedov, Artem Semenov, Denis Ershov and more made it to the top.
Lørdag 12.Mars 2016 er det klart for Norgesmesterskapet i Karate. Avholdes i Oslo, Hovseterhallen, Hovseterveien 74/76, 0768 Oslo. NM i Karate har de siste år vært tildels ustabilt i nivå og deltagelse, men etter årets NM i 2015 ser man en positiv trend på flere områder. Karate NM avholdes i regi av NKF med Lørenskog kk som ivaretar fullkontakt delen. (←ikke offisiell poster)
NM blir avholdt som vanlig, med tre karate disipliner, hvor fullkontakt karate er en av dem. Det “samlede NM” ble innført i 2010, men i år ligger det an til noen forandringer….!
