Saturday 2, April, in one hectic day – the European Championship Shinkyokushin was held in Tarnów, Poland. Trough the difficult times recovering after Covid – and now with the attack on Ukraine, many assumed that it would have an impact at the championship – how much? Some podium was untouched as others turned up side down.
Lørdag 2.April ble EM avholdt i Tarnów, som ligger syd i Polen. Til tross for den uro det er i Europa, samt etterslep av Covid – så stiller det godt med utøvere i alle klasser. NKO Shin Norge var på plass med tre utøvere, coacher, presse og samt to dommere som alle hadde en travel lørdag i et møte med Europa og verdens beste utøvere innen fullkontakt Karate. Helgens EM var kun for voksne klasser, eget Ungdoms EM kommer til høsten, og da er den kun fokus på dem.
Lørdag 25. mars var det klart for NM – og med tanke på hva pandemien har gjort, så betød NM noe mer enn bare det som skjedde på matta. På matta var det sånn sett lite forandringer, friske oppgjør i de eldste jr klassene+ tekniske dameklasser i MB. Den rene fullkontakten står stort sett på stedet hvil, med unntak av Etne som tar et merkbart steg fremover. Men årets overaskelse må sies å være Alexander Aastveit, Bjørgvind kk
NKO sender tre representanter til EM i Polen 2.april 2022, og som alltid er det tøffe tak i vente. Som foregående EM, så er det er rent senior EM. Land som Litauen, Polen, Ukraina, Georgia har tatt EM og VM medaljer i andre Kyokushin forbund også, med andre ord NKO møter flere av de beste utøvere i Europa for ikke å si verden.

Kembu Iriki pulls trough a very tough All Japan Open – Iriki been top three six times, in the last seven All Japan Open’s. Includes winning the 48th & 52nd edition – as he now does in the 53rd edition. Chihiro Kubota defend her tittle from the 52nd, and a raising star comes into the final in Suzuki Mihiro. Two major victories was pulled of this weekend, 1. To face the challenge, organizing a tournament with the covid-19 and AND to manage to gather so many different fighters from different schools.
For å i det hele tatt delta i VM til neste år, må man kvalifisere seg gjennom å vinne EM. Det beskriver nivået og ikke minst hvilke høye krav som stilles til utøvere som får delta. Therese N Østebrød og Marleen Gregusson var på plass i Litauen som utøvere, Bo Vidar Larsen representerte NKO som dommer.
En liten delegasjoen fra NKO, Ringerike så sitt snitt til å kombinere harry-tur og Karate, og resultatet ble deltagelse i Okawa Cup, Kungälv. Det var 130 påmeldte utøvere, og det ble konkurrert i Kata og Fight, lørdag til kata og søndagen var det fight.
In two weeks, the European Championship for cadets, Juniors and U-21 takes off in Romania. With close to 450 competitors this European Championship raises up beyond expectations! This also gives us a clear answer in the case of organizing U-categories in a own EC tournament – no doubt about it, the numbers are too high if one mix seniors and U-categories together at the same tournament. This is the future!
December the 12th, The 23rd All Japan Open will be held, and the excitements raises also outside Japan, because this will decide who that will represent Japan in the World Championship in Weight-categories in Poland next September 2022. This is the second selection, the first selection was done during The 6th JFKO. We will take a sneak peak at the top fighters that are seeded.
