Camp Banzai 2026

The 10th edition of Camp Banzai 21-23rd August. The camp have been a heavy hit – and talking about heavy hitter: Paulius Žimantas will be the guest instructor this year!

Paulius Žimantas with the head coach of Lithuania Vladimiras Silvaško will for sure give the popular Camp Banzai the anniversary one can hope for. The camp always bring in top fighters an coaches of the world.

Now there have been many articles about Camp Banzai, and it is just repeating what has been said and written before. But if you do Full Contact Karate – then you are familiar with repetitions.

The camp runs from Friday to Sunday, with the main focus on Saturday. It is a packed, tight camp – but without it being stressful. The camp usually brings together just over a hundred athletes, mainly from Sweden, but Norway also has a good contingent.

The camp bring out the soul of Full contact Karate, the true friendship and the values that always focus on persons for who they are and what they give to others. Team-building come natural in to play in the “Raven Hill” and the hmm “entertainment” during the dinner Saturday.

As I said, this year’s instructors are well known. They have many achievements and achievements, and they are at a high level. Probably most people know the athlete, Paulius Žimantas, the most. At least the younger guard. Known for crazy hard punches, which often end the fight immediately. The question often becomes: not if there will be a knock out – but when! But you have to be able to see more than just knockouts. Then you see a fighter with exceptionally good timing, light on his feet despite fighting in the heaviest class. And a kicking arsenal that makes a difference. We believe the best is yet to come. Photo by Algimantas Barzdžius visit for more!

In 2019, this athlete appeared in the European Championship. Not only that, he made it to the finals, where he challenged the champion before finishing in 2nd place. Photo: Hayashida Norio

This led him to the World Championship in Japan that same year, where he also did a very good job – also making the championship’s fastest K.O. in 18 seconds (official figures from WKO). All this at the age of 19. And this was only a cautious start…

Lithuania has had top fighters for many years, and if we stick to the heaviest weight class, you can safely say that they have had a solid influence. Since 1997, Lithuania has won this class 17 times, with athletes such as Eventas Gužauskas, Lukas Kubilius, Donatas Imbras, Andrius Draugelis and Paulius Žimantas. “The story behind” will always be very interesting to know, and with both – the athlete and the coach, we will be able to get exactly that! Vladimiras Silvaško also founded one of the oldest and most respected clubs in Lithuania, Energija. This club has fostered world-class athletes – who have in time started their own clubs and continued the good results.

Impressively, Vladimiras Silvaško is still competitive, and participated in the World Senior Championships in Japan in 2025. Photo by Edvinas Ivanovas visit for more edvinfoto.lt
