Referee for this bout is Kenichi Serizawa. Haga puts a flurry of punches in Saito’s face, prompting the smaller Japanese fighter to return fire in kind. Once Saito has had it with being punched in the face, she shoots in for a takedown. Haga stuffs the takedown and takes Saito’s back, wrapping an arm around her face for the rear-naked choke. Saito defends by tucking her chin.

Collin has recently been among the best in the middle weight sets at European scale.And when European standards are top in the world there is a strong level you are talking about. Most people who have seen him fight has been impressed by his calmand cool fighting style. Many battles have been quickly settled, after a well-placed technique. For example, a knee to the head.. Collin has for many years, slowly but surely expanded the circle to end up on the world arena. He has met with the very best such as Valeri Dimitrov, Marius Ilas to name a few. During the World Cup in 2009, Jimmie Collin possibly one of the better performances he has had. Just to qualify for World Cup requires a lot.

To har nådd sine felles mål – Shodan, eller svart belte allment kjent. I fullkontakt karate stilles det helt særegne mål ift dette med gradering, og ikke minst når det kommer til Shodan og Dan graderinger. All kampsport/kunst som innehar grader og et graderingsystem vil redegjøre for sine rettningslinjer og verdier når det kommer til beltegradene. Mer eller mindre faller de aller fleste inn under samme rettningslinjer, verdier og kvaliteter. Kyokushin Karate skiller seg kraftig ut i fra resten rent stilartsmessig, og dette kommer tydeligst frem i to settinger; konkurranse og gradering.

According to British bookmakers, karate is a clear favorite to be admitted to the Olympic program when the IOC meets Buenos Aires in September next year.

Karate narrowly lost the battle to get on the Olympic program in 2016 to golf and rugby, but is now set with baseball, squash, roller skating sports, softball, climbing, wave boards, and wushu as a new sport from 2020. IOC has a list of 30 criteria which they consider sports. Some of the criteria is how popular the sport is, how it controls, and how effective anti-doping program. Continue reading
