IT’S TIME FOR SOMETHING NEW – IT’S TIME FOR TORII KATA CUP 2026!
These enthusiastic and motivating words welcome you to an event you don’t want to miss! Organized by Roskilde Karate Club, Denmark – 18th April. Official information, guidelines and registration can be found HERE
This is the 4th edition of the Torii Kata Cup – and it is safe to say that we are far beyond “the point of no return”. With the increasing activity and interest in participating – and not least organizing Kata championships, the Torii Kata Cup fits seamlessly into the international calendar. That said, it is important to point out that the Torii Kata Cup does not only appeal to the top, it also has a recruitment focus. As the organizers say: “This is a Kata tournament for EVERYONE.” ⇓ Pictures taken by KARATEBYLIV
It is an art in itself to maintain the top while building the width. Kata Torii Cup along with e.g. Tomodachi Cup have this ability. This reflects the true values of the environment, the deeper goal that can’t be measured in 1st and 2nd place. ⇓ Pictures taken by KARATEBYLIV
We mentioned the schedule, and with regular Kata championships / Activity set against an overall agenda, which could be EC – it is a very fruitful spring towards Georgia in May, and EC. We have as examples Tomodachi Kata cup (Feb) followed by Swiss Kata Camp 2026 (March) and now we are ready for Torii Kata Cup in April. ⇓ Pictures taken by KARATEBYLIV
“A Garyū is a reclining dragon. A mighty being who possesses strength and humility in equal measure 🐉✨The prize will therefore go to a karateka who on the tatami demonstrates great overview and karate technical ability, but who outside the tatami demonstrates respect and community.”

Our ultimate desire is to leave an expression that is bigger than ourselves. To do this we must give of ourselves, as individuals and the environment as such. If we succeed, it will be shown in growth, results for everyone involved. ⇓ Pictures taken by KARATEBYLIV
Who had heard of the Torii Kata Cup a few years ago? It did not exist. Something good has been created – now it is up to us to take care of it. The Torii Kata Cup is waiting for you, not for what you will do – but because you choose to do it.
