If you want results and growth, you have to plan. Georgia and Latvia, the organizers of the EC 2026, are examples of this.
Two more European Championships added to your calendar, one in Georgia (that you might knew about already) and later same year in Latvia. In the EKO – Shinkyokushin history it will be the first time that Latvia will host the European Championship. Georgia have several times been the organizer, as in 2016 and 2021.
We would think that Georgia is the environment it knows best. Over the years, they have distinguished themselves in several ways, as the organizer of EC and not least as a very strong full contact Karate nation. If you are not familiar with the environment in Latvia, we highly recommend reading about their history and how they have worked their way up to this point by becoming an EC organizer. ⇓ Picture from LKKF official web – visit for more!
Visit their official website and read their story, it is relevant and good reading in the systematic working and development of Full Contact Karate. Official Website
History suggests that both events are in good hands, although they will be marked somewhat differently depending on which country is hosting. What we mean by this is that Georgia, as mentioned, has potentially tremendous capacity when it comes to fielding its own athletes. Athletes who can challenge the elite in Europe.
For the hard-working Latvian organizations, hosting the EC will be a very important piece in putting themselves on the map. Here they can show who they are as a nation, and what they are capable of when it comes to organizing.
For participants in general, it will also be interesting to come to Latvia, since they do not have that experience with the country or the Latvian organization as the organizer. We look forward to Georgia and Latvia!
