Closing in to the last part of the registration, Swedish Open shapes nicely up. Several countries with merited fighters are all ready in the line up, and usually some late registration will happen in towards the deadline. No doubt that this will be a tournament where fighters will meet their challenges..
“This is Karate” two “old” videos that show Karate. One likes the wrapping and the atmosphere that these two videos have – and not least the content. Knock out collections are often seen on youtube, and there are knock outs here too. But one feels that there are also many clips that contain the essence that one seeks in the execution of a technique. Accuracy, timing, speed, power. And perhaps what should impress most: the effectiveness of a properly executed technique that is not performed spectacularly with jumps, scrolls and acrobatic touches.
One of the finest tradition in Shinkyokushin tournaments are ready with a new date: The 23rd BRANKO BOŠNJAK MEMORIAL will be held 27th October 2018. A pure traditional Full contact Karate tournament with great traditions. We do always mention this: the hospitality is legendary..! The level of the fighting fits the organizing and one do get amazed by the combination little hype but strong quality!
The Diamond Cup 2018 delivered a fully packed tournament that makes it stand stronger than ever. For sure the Diamond Cup are known for top level fighting from many years – but one do have to notice that the concept grows, more and more people are included… and that together with the quality!
With fifteen nations spread across the podium, the result describes how the diversity in the tournament is – and this makes the interest increase even further!
The annual New Year’s training is completed. The training was led by WKO Shinkyokushinkai its own president, Midori Kenji Shihan 8.Dan. During the training top Shinkyokushinkai Karatekas preformed demonstration at top level with Kata and Kumite. Midori Kenji Shihan led the Hihon session before a Kumite demonstration by World Champion Yuji Shimamoto and vice World Champion Kembu Iriki.
As in the previous article we will look at some of the finals held in 2017. This time it is directed against women classes and some of the athletes who have been prominent there. As in the men’s division, unfortunately we could not get as many we wish. World Championships, European Championships, Open tournaments – it`s all there!
The 3rd KWU World Championship are history, we will first take a look at the women`s divisions. One of the most impressing things must be how the little country Lithuania can produce so many, and so high level professional fighters. Other thoughts is in the opposite direction, with this professional level from Russia, Lithuania – is so that we are going in a direction so professional that it will exclude the regular participant?
The draw is a fact, and the speculations is going around as usual. We have a interesting line up and draw, two favorites are pointed out, a “dark horse” some good routine based fighters and a couple of up and coming highly interesting young fighters..! All Japan Open Champion, U22 European Champion, and European champion are to find in the line up!
TBST Tomasz Basiak Shinkyokushinkai Team, keep great events coming. In a short time the will organize a seminar with Shihan Kumiko Sunakawa 5th Dan, 6th and 7th January 2018. This is like what was being done last year, with an seminar held by Emi Shoguchi, World Champion,Japan.
The next one up on the schedule: summer camp 24th – 26th August 2018 with Kensaku Yamamoto Shihan and Emi Shoguchi Sensei! We will give you some videos to getting “warmed up” !
